SESSION 1 — DESIGN & PLANNING
Duration: 3–3.5 hours
This session focuses on ideas, decisions, and preparation.
What Happens in Session 1
- Define the purpose of your dream bag (work, travel, daily use, creative gear, etc.)
- Choose your bag type (tote, backpack, crossbody, work bag, hybrid)
- Explore size, structure, pockets, straps, and closures
- Select materials, colours, and hardware
- Sketch and refine your design with guidance
- Adapt or choose a suitable pattern base
- Plan the construction process step by step
Outcome of Session 1
- A clear, finalised bag design
- Materials and pattern prepared
- Confidence in how your bag will be made
You are encouraged to reflect between sessions, allowing ideas to settle before construction begins.
SESSION 2 — MAKING & CONSTRUCTION
Duration: 3–3.5 hours
This session is where your design becomes reality.
What Happens in Session 2
- Cutting fabric and components accurately
- Constructing the bag in the correct sequence
- Installing zips, pockets, straps, and hardware
- Shaping and structuring the bag
- Final assembly and finishing details
- Quality checks and refinements
Outcome of Session 2
- Your completed, one-of-a-kind dream bag
- Practical knowledge of professional bag construction
- A finished piece you can use immediately
