Our Beginnings | Paul's Story

The journey began with a simple idea and handmade bag crafted at home. The plan was to sell these bags to raise funds for the production of his envisioned leather bags. One night, Paul pitched this idea to his mother and sister, who were skeptical of his ability to pull it off, especially since he had never sewn before. Challenged by his sister, he was determined to create his own range of bags. When asked what would set his bags apart, Paul conceived the idea of incorporating wood into the designs to make them stand out.

Despite his family's doubts, Paul’s persistence and belief in his vision drove him forward. He accepted the challenge to turn his wood bag concept into reality. Many late nights, various sewing machines, and countless YouTube tutorials later, he perfected his craft. His dedication to quality and innovation paid off, and Goodstart Jones began to take shape.

We always aim to make our bags in England and to always aim to do our best. Like the bible says. “If you know good then do good.” We make everything by hand with a objective of continually training and learning to improve tailoring skills.

Military Aspirations | Great source of reference when it comes to combing both the basic practicality of items being hardwearing and multifunctional. Plus the military / army and navy influence is also a great source of inspiration for the look and style which is capable of combing the bags function and materials selection together perfectly.
